Types of Cemetery Monuments and Memorials

Learn About the Different Types of Cemetery Monuments and Memorials Available From Rome Monument

Since 1934, Rome Monument has specialized in designing and building many types of cemetery memorials and monuments. There are many options to choose from when you select a headstone or gravestone design. The two most common types of cemetery monuments are classified as flat (flush or lawn level) markers and upright monuments.  Cemetery monuments are usually inscribed with the name, birth date and death date of the deceased. Additional inscriptions or epitaphs such as "Beloved", "Rest in Peace" and "Always Remembered" are often engraved or etched on the monument. Other common types of gravestones are bevel shaped monuments, slant shaped monuments, ledger grave markers, obelisks and mausoleums.
