Penn Hills Fallen Officers Monument designed and built by Rome Monument. The bronze statue sits atop Pennsylvania Black granite accents. The law enforcement memorial honors the municipality’s fallen police officers. Erected in 1973, the monument is dedicated to the memories of Penn Hills police Sgt. William Schrott and Officer Bartley Connolly, who were killed in the line of duty on March 25, 1972. After Officer Michael Crawshaw was killed while on duty on Dec. 6, 2009, the memorial was expanded in 2010 and includes an engraved granite marker in his honor. In February of 2018, Penn Hills council decided to move this monument honoring the municipality’s fallen police officers to the site of a new municipal building that will be located on Duff Road.
